Alien Contamination – Dolby Dts $12.99 Following the surprising success of his cheapjack Star Wars knockoff, Star Crash, Italian director Luigi Cozzi was given the helm of this cheapjack Alien knockoff. An alien cyclops causes a man to cover the Earth with nasty eggs (sometimes made of silicone, sometimes close-ups of common olives). The eggs release gelatinous gunk which makes people explode, and it’s all part of the alien’s plan to take over the world. Cozzi, a less-talented prot?g? of Dario Argento, at least gets a good soundtrack by using his mentor’s house band, Goblin, but delivers a bad film nonetheless. The director admits that the ludicrous monster was made of badly painted papier-mache, requiring 96 separate cuts to look convincing in its big scene. It didn’t work. ~ Robert Firsching, All Movie Guide |

Star Wars $8.59 The official comics adaptation of the most anticipated of the Star Wars films! The action of the Clone Wars comes to a dramatic conclusion, and events are put in place for A New Hope. Battles rage in space, armies clash on alien worlds, heroes become martyrs, and friends become enemies-all leading up to the biggest, longest, and most incredible lightsaber duel in Star Wars history! This is the film that answers the questions, How did Anakin succumb to the dark side? What happened to Luke and Leia’s mother? And why are there no Jedi around in the original Trilogy? Artist Doug Wheatley (Star Wars: Empire volume two) brings a level of life and detail to the adaptation that rivals that of the films themselves. An epic graphic novel not to be missed! |

Alien Alone: Kanpotar Bakar $17.49 After a life’s career as a photojournalist recording the horrors of wars and Police Actions throughout the world, Will McCord returns to the mountains of Central Oregon to revive the memories of living there in a cabin during the early 1960’s as a young teenager, and to put to rest the demons of self doubt. He returns to refresh his memories of Kampotar Bakar, the little known legendary alien beast he had befriended and for whom Will had to kill a man to protect. Will relives the days of life and legend, and the lawlessness and greed he witnessed while enjoying a boy’s life in the mountains during summer days and winter nights, slowly realizing life’s circumstances were prematurely transforming him into a man. Will mentally walks once again through his days as a youth until it is manifested to him that although all things change with time, some things change slower than others, and the glorious days as a boy can be relived. |
